It's a very good book - the suspense is there, and it's not easy at all to figure out "who-dun-it"...
That being said, the main themes and the setting - i.e. Haiti, voo-doo, poverty, hunger, violence against children - are quite upsetting and may cause unease. The writing is rather frank and realistic, and I must admit I found some of the content a bit disturbing (which is saying much, since I usually eat up all the violence, sex and gore...).
Still - for those who like to explore dark themes - a definite recommendation!
